What do you think of my New York schools and my chances?

Here's my list: SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Geneseo, Union College, NYU-targets
SUNY Buffalo, SUNY New Paltz, SUNY Albany-safeties
Cornell, Columbia-reaches (I'm not really interested in either of these and I don't think I have a chance)

Here are my stats. 93/94 unweighted, around 105+ weighted (hasn't been calculated for my junior year yet, so this is a guesstimation)
SAT-620 R, 640 W, 660 M (1280/1920)
ACT-30 (E 34, M 34, R 30, S 23) + (E/W 32 with 9 on essay)

Freshman year-all honors
Sophmore year-all honors and AP World
Junior year-all college level and AP Lit and APUSH
Senior year-mix of APs, college, and honors (this is what I'm intending on doing)

Clubs- Interact (Community Service Club, 9-12), Newspaper (will be copy editor next year, 10-12), Spanish Club & Spanish National Honor Society (11-12), History Club (11-12), National Honor Society (12)

Volunteered at library weekly from the end of my freshman year to middle of junior year
I have around 120 hours I think.

I've played piano outside of school for almost 10 years

So, do you think all my schools are accurate for my targets, safeties, reaches? I should also mention that I have a legacy at Union College and Columbia. I only put down NYU because my friend likes it, but I'm wondering if it's a target for me? My top choices are Binghamton, Geneseo, and Union. Say I don't get in to them, then it would be Buffalo.

I wonder, purple. I wonder. :-)

you should be able to get into bing. also a good shot at geneseo but less than bing. good shot for union as well. nyu is a maybe. i think you’ll get into all of the schools you called safeties. cornell and columbia, not so much lol (if your SATs were higher, cornell could be possible though! so if you want to retake, go for it)

Ok I tried calculating my gpa myself and got a 94 unweighted and 107 weighted for three years of high school.

I know my sat out of 1600 is low, but will the one out of 2400 make any difference? When I look at naviance, I’m around where all the acceptances are for my targets and way above everything else for the safeties. For Geneseo, I’m with the acceptances too. As for Cornell and Columbia, I’m to the left of a cluster of acceptances that were below the average of the sats.

I think your list is pretty accurate.

The avg SAT at geneseo for the class of 2014 is 1340. The 50th%tile is 1290 - 1380. [Class of 2014 Profile | SUNY Geneseo](Fast Facts at a Glance: Fall 2022 | SUNY Geneseo)

I think you are in a good position to receive a few acceptances.

Looks like you’ve got a good list of reaches, safeties and matches.

I think you should focus on the ACT. you did pretty well but if you can pull your science and reading up you’ll definitely be considered by columbia and cornell.

Also, I have my SAT II scores and AP scores.

Chem-650, Math II-660, U.S.-730
AP World-4, AP Lit-4, AP U.S.-5

I got a 30 on my ACT which is about a 1340 when converted to the SAT. My 1280 is low for some schools, but does my ACT help? I know I have to do better on science, so I want to raise it a few points if I can, but it’s still really good right now.

For the SAT, I did a lot lower than my PSAT (199) and practice tests. Writing was the only subject that went up, but my math and reading both went down, so I didn’t get into the 1300s. I’m hoping to get into the 1300s and finally reach a 2000, but I’ll only know until October.

I also forgot to mention that I was on the tennis team during my junior year.

Why don’t you apply to Fordham – seems like a good match school?
