What do you think of my Sophomore Schedule?

Honors English 10
Honors Algebra II
Honors Chemistry
AP US History
German II
Health (One Semester)
Personal Finance (One Semester)
Marching Band (Two Periods)
Symphonic Band (Two Period)

I was also considering self studying the following AP's:
AP World History
AP Macroeconomics
AP Microeconomics
AP Statistics

Do these self studies sound reasonable to accomplish and get fives if I start in September? I plan on full textbook reading, outlining, studying, and essay and problem practice. Any tips for self studying?

What would be the point of that?

how on earth do you have 10 periods?

and self studying 4 APs as a sophomore lol I rate your schedule 2/10

Well one the main reasons is college credit and placement as well as make my application look better. I enjoy World History and feel I will enjoy self studying it and will learn a lot from the Asia and Africa parts. For Economics, I don’t know much about it but it seems so interesting. I am more interested in Macro and figured if I do that I might as well do micro as well. Does that sound reasonable? Statistics…well…I want more math classes…I love math.

We don’t have 10 periods… we actually have 8. I needed to clarify that Marching Band and Symphonic Band are one semester long each. Is it really that bad of a schedule (2/10)???

I’m pretty sure the 2/10 thing was sarcasm.

Whether a given schedule is good or not depends on what’s available at your school.

The question is, could it be any better/more challenging? If not, then it’s fine. If so, tell us how and we can help you judge whether you’d be overextending yourself.

Well do to all the restrictions my school has, those are the hardest classes I could take as well as the most.

Well, there you go. Colleges will see that you took the hardest courses available to you, and that’s what matters.

It doesn’t look like there are that many restrictions, though. Except for the self-studies I’d consider that a “normal” sophomore schedule for an honors student.

Then you’d probably just need to get a 3 or 4, depending on the school. Not too many schools give credit for a 5 and nothing else (there are a couple, though).

I don’t think you should self-study four, though. Unless you’ve done it before. Maybe pick two and then do more junior year if you like them. This year you’d be better off developing/improving your ECs.

You have a great schedule! It has some very rigorous and challenging courses, but it looks very impressive and you will learn a lot! I rate is 9.5/10

If you’re taking the most difficult classes, then this is great. Make sure you can keep your grades up, though.
