1.) How volunteering for a political campaign taught me that one has to go out and do something if they want it.

2.) A diverse range of interests: running, swimming, music, ect...

3.) Learning from mistakes (burning out for cross country, and then excelling in track)

4.) Three experiences that have shaped me

5.) How my senior pictures shooting shows that i am different from most people (instead of all the seniors who have an attitude like I just want to get this done, i made the sure the expirince was fun for the both of us by doing funny things-- bringing a golf club and telling the photographer I'm not a golfer but i wanted a picture with a golf club lol!)

Well I already critiqued your first essay Valkarie, maybe you should stray away from topics that revolve around school.

Also, it’s best that you be as YOU as possible. Don’t try to be sappy and tell about how you’ve become a better person after volunteering in Africa… even if it’s true. Topics like that are sooo bland and generic and adcoms will get sick of reading it. Now I know you have done something that is completely unique in the 17 years you’ve been alive. lol.

For example, you could write a coming of age story about when you first had to watch the dishes or something along those lines.

Use whichever topic allows for the most personal, detailed, and revealing essay.

People here aren’t likely to be able to say which topic that is: how could we know which topic allows you to be the most personal, detailed, and revealing?

Aim to write something that is so you that only you could have written it.
