what do you think will be the safe score of the new sat's to get into cornell?

what do you think will be the safe score of the new sat's to get into cornell?
just asking... cos im a junior, taking my sat1 for the first time on the 4th, and i think i should know how much i should get to get into cornell.
im literally scared to death!
help!

There isn't a specific "safe" test score in order to get into Cornell. Colleges don't say that you need a specific test score to definitely get into their schools. With that said, just do your best on the SAT. Strive for the highest score you can possibly get. If you get the results back, and you aren't happy with them, take the test again in the fall. You may improve your score a lot to your liking. Good luck!

I think if you crack a 1400, you are fine.

i think bball87 means 1400 on reading+math

oh yeah, lol, 1400 out of 2100 i do not think would cut it lol :)

1400? Tons of people get rejected with that score...

What would be more appropriate is that 1400 will give you a fighting chance.

that's quite high.. but then again.. that's the same as before, with the old sat. very disconcerting... :'(

of course tons of people get rejected with that score. Cornell has a 20 something percent acceptance rate. 1400 is in the middle of Cornell's middle 50th.

The word is that colleges are not putting too much stock in the critical writing section this year (source: NY times) so 1400 on Math+verbal is a good goal to put you IN THE RUNNING. 1500 would give you a "very good shot" pending all your other stats are very up to par. a very good shot is not like saying you have an 85% chance of being accepted. More like 60 I'd say.

Naturally if you bomb the writing that doesn't help. Also, now that I think about it, the SATII writing has been nixed so this writing kind of replaces it, so say a 2100 to be in the running and 2250 or 2300 to be top-notch.
