What do you think?

My friend just called to tell me she had been emailed by Harvard for an interview. The best guy in our state hasn’t. Neither have I. That got me wondering… She well she isn’t the most academically concerned ( I’m talking skipping school and disturbing my home school lessons) but she was on a team that won an international contest. I was partly on it sighs they used my ideas but no credit coz I’m not a traditional student… Nonetheless, I’m digressing.
Could she have actually been contacted? And the boy with 10A’s and the national honor hasn’t?

Yes she was contacted. And NO it has nothing to do with your relative chances. Each and every post about not yet being interviewed states this. This is nothing to be worried about

Oh wow,thank you @T2E64.

@T26E4 there is anecdotal “evidence” (if you can call it that) that for int’l students in limited interview areas, interviews are not meaningless. I do not know whether that is true or not.

My answer is correct for domestic applicants and those in US high schools. If an applicant is overseas, Harvard does seem to parse out its limited interview capability – the language on its admissions site confirms this.

@T26E4 The OP is from Nigeria, which is a limited interview country.

Thanks @soheils
Thanks again @T26E4
I hope I get contacted tho, my “why Harvard” is going to blow their heads off!

@Oddenigma Your “why Harvard”? Was that your optional supplement?

Nope, its my “special” reply i kept for my interview -_-
They best contact me

@Oddenigma did you get your sat scores?
