Well, back to the issue at hand...osmosis' essay. I think it's coming along nicely. I like your style of writing. A tired admissions officer is going to read this so no matter what you're saying it needs to be interesting. And your essay is definitely interesting do far. When it ended, I was curious to know what happened and how it will continue, which is always a good sign. Keep writing, and don't let anyone discourage you.

Thanx shining star...SUZE once again I know my chances are slim..and I only asked the question once. And as one of the posters said the 510 "is definitley going to change"!! Thanx all for ur inputs!

Suze said: "All of those who kept insisting ivies look at the "whole person" were just blown away with outright rejection."

I just wanted to make a comment about how people say that extremely selective schools look at the whole person. I say that too, and it means that they look at more than gpa and scores. They are not obviously looking at the whole person because you can't possibly get a whole person into an application. They accept/deny the application, and not the applicant.

Just apply to safeties, matches, and reaches (the hard part is telling them apart) and hope for the best. Most people get into a school that they once considered a reach. The education you get a the #1 ranked school is about the same as what you get at the #20 ranked school, and even the #50 ranked school is just as good except for a few perks. Look at other schools to apply to based on personal fit and try to get away from the mindset of having to get accepted to the most prestigious school possible. The prestige factor just ends up just being a bumper sticker.
