<p>I was just curious to know what your parents do for their occupations? </p>
<p>So, I guess I'll start, my mom does not work, and my dad owns a small gift shop.</p>
<p>dad is software engineer</p>
<p>mom works in the medical field</p>
<p>Dad: doctor</p>
<p>Mom: nothing</p>
<p>My mom is a nurse
My dad is in the navy.</p>
<p>Dad: doctor
Mom: nurse practitioner</p>
<p>Dad: works with the stock market/hedge funds
Mom: school teacher</p>
<p>I’m a Mom, not a student but I have to chime in here. Mom’s who do not work outside the home do not get paid for what they do but they still are working. Please do not say your Mom “does nothing.”</p>
<p>I am a social worker and my husband a project manager.</p>
<p>I don’t have a working parent in my family at the moment. My dad died a few years ago and my mom’s disabled and can’t work. Not a good record, eh? ;)</p>

<p>My dad programs software. My mom is a wonderful homeschooler, mom, and wife. I think she works way harder than lots of people with paid careers do. :)</p>

Mom: Used to be a lawyer, retired to take care of my sister and I, and is now trying to get back to work</p>
<p>@lammb66, that is very true. I apologize to my mother, for I truly know and believe that she does everything possible for me to meet the basic necessities of life. Sorry mom. :)</p>
<p>My dad is our citys’ city administrator (he’s a professional hired by the city to help the government make decisions, figure a budget, etc.) My mom doesn’t have a job, but she is a really active volunteer in activities my brother and I do.</p>

Dad: Doesn’t work currently. Was recently diagnosed with Menier’s and is dealing with that. Was previously working on oil rigs/welding.</p>
