What does a 3.7 mean? (more literal)

I’m in high school currently and have been doing well, even getting straight A’s freshman year but now I am at the end of sophomore, the first semester I received 2 B’s and second semester I have had one B. If I do my best junior and senior year maybe getting straight A’s on a 4.0 scale what would this be. I have used a GPA calculator and it said a 3.7 is this accurate.

Your final GPA at the end of senior year is irrelevant to college applications submitted during your senior year in HS (unless you badly mess up in the last semester to the point where schools could consider rescinding an acceptance).

Most early applications deadlines are in November, so those schools will only see your grades through the end of Junior year when deciding.

For regular decision, most schools will receive and consider your grades through the end of first semester senior year, but some will base their decisions on grades only through the end of Junior year.

So, be more concerned with what GPA you can achieve by the end of Junior year, and the end of first semester senior year.

I take it that 3.7 is unweighted? That is good enough for most colleges to keep looking at the rest of your application.
