What Does A Correction Made by a College on my FAFSA Mean?

I got an email that a correction that was made on my FAFSA was processed, but I hadn’t touched my FAFSA since January. Upon further investigation, it turned out that a college had made the correction. It caused my EFC to go down by $30, but I can’t figure out what exactly they did. Does this mean anything? Was it just a school trying to help me out?

Colleges are allowed to makes changes to your Fafsa. Sounds like they found a way to be able to provide you more money, and that’s a good thing.

Actually, IIRC, they are required to do so if there is a found error.

Yes, any “conflicting information” must be resolved & the FAFSA must be updated accordingly.
