Just out of curiosity, what should I expect when I click the link and get accepted/rejected/deferred?

Like will I see confetti across the screen or something (for admit)? Frowning face for reject?

I remember watching a Yale reaction video on youtube, and if I recall correctly, if you get accepted the word “Congratulations” will appear on the screen and you will hear Yale’s music(their official chant?) and their mascot, the bulldog, will appear on the screen as well.

If you’re admitted - once you click the link a screen will appear that will say something like “Congratulations! Welcome to the Class of 2019” across the top. They’ll be a pic of the Bulldog mascot. The Yale song will be playing in the background. It’s very short. Best part- you can play it over and over.

The confetti is done by UPenn. Harvard sends a regular email.

Pretty much though last year’s had a white background and was slightly different. Probably change it slightly each year.

I find this whole phenomenon to be strange. There are tons of uploaded videos of kids’ reactions to “accept decisions” from various schools. Do we really need to see some girl puking in front of her computer due to seeing her Harvard accept? (it’s available with a few search words on you tube – cuz she posted it!).

Society has a weird view of recording everything as if people really care-- or even if they’ll care 3 days from posting. Lots of wasted bandwidth, I would imagine. The idea that I’d want someone with a smart phone videoing me as I hear good/bad news is simply bizarre.

“curmudgeon” T26E4

LOL

^^^ LOL

OMG, @T26e4, I am simultaneously horrified that that video is out there, and tempted to google it for myself now that you’ve told me it exists. I suppose that is the vicious cycle of reality programming. As long as the Kardashians are on TV, someone will watch them, and as long as someone watches them, they will keep putting them on TV.

Now I must contemplate which is more objectionable viewing…Anything with the Kardashians, or girl puking on her computer while being accepted to Harvard. Tough call.

Ok - Yale admits don’t puke when they see their admittance letter. What does that say about Harvard?! :-/

Watch out TPerry, the Harvard SCEA thread kids tried to start a rumble with the Yale thread last week. You probably don’t want to get on their bad side :)

@VSGPeanut101 - you are too funny. I’ve been lurking on that thread and they are way too anal for me. But that’s what I would expect.
