I really want to go to JHU for pre-med. What can I do to stand out?? It has been my dream to be a neurologist forever..!

for one thing. DO NOT put premeed on your application b/c technically, jhu doesnt have premed.

I was recently accepted into their BME program and i personally think it is because of the strong interest i showed in the research i did out of school, which was related to BME. show that you are interested, and chances are, they will be interested in you as an applicant

Agreed with prepre about the Premed option, and I’m gonna add a bit more to that. JHU doesn’t have a Premed major, but what it does have is very similar to a Premed-track. If you come to JHU looking to study Premed, choose a major in the field of study you wish to do. For example, I’m going to study Premed, but my major is Biology.

BME (Bio-Medical Engineering) is a great option, however, it is the only program at Hopkins that you have to apply for separately, and it is also more intensive. However, it is not the be-all-end-all option for Premed at Hopkins, which, as you probably know, has a great reputation as an institute where many undergrads continuing into medicine have great success! If I were you, I would visit the campus and arrange for an on-campus interview and tour. You may even get to meet your Region advisor, which can help leave an impression when they read the admissions committee reads your application!

An on-campus interview and tour? Is that only after you apply?
