What does it take to transfer into Swarthmore

The more time I spend at my current school (and learn about myself) and the more time I spend researching Swarthmore (I’m visiting campus on Tuesday, so excited!), the more…uh…obsessed I become with the school. I already applied, had a supplemental recommendation sent in by my employer (I worked as an engineering instructor last summer), and interviewed (which I think I nailed). Is there anything else I can do? Generally speaking, what does it take to transfer into Swarthmore? I really want this :stuck_out_tongue:

Look at the Common Data Set (Google it) for Swarthmore. There is a section of transfer metrics.

I’ve looked at that data previously and it doesn’t include any statistics or metrics concerning the students who were accepted. It just kind of sucks because I feel strongly that I would have gotten in had I applied as a freshman, but I made the wrong choice. Ultimately though, my current college experience has been eye opening, as at least I have been able to take that positive out of it But from what I have learned, Swathmore seems ideal so it’d be really nice to go there.

I don’t know if you’re aware, but the school is on spring break this week. I’m sure there will be folks around, but many of the students are away.

If Engineering is your intended major (not sure…based on your comments above), stop by the department and speak with someone about transfer experiences in the past. Have they had many? What challenges do they face? Do classes elsewhere transfer? That advice would go for any potential major.

I assume you’re planning to check in with admissions. If not a formal visit, I would still check in with the admissions office and ask them “if they have everything”.

EyeVee, thanks for the advice. I’ll definitely do that! Like I said, the more I look into it, the more desperate I am to become a swattie. It’s unfortunate I didn’t realize this sooner, but adversity is often an enlightening experience, and this has been exactly the case for myself, my goals, and my desires.

I know it is a crapshoot. ANYWAY!
