aww ****...

?

I hope the admit rate goes up with the increase in Financial Aid.

yeah I read the article in the LA times today soon... my mom was reading the paper and she read the first line of the article to me and I kinda grabbed the paper out of her hands lol

USC recieved 200 less admissions this year... and the are aiming to raise their addmitance rate from 22% (which I'm assuming was last years admittance rate) they are also increasing undergraduate financial aid by 8% as someone else already said. The article for those who didn't read it was basicaly about how this year colleges admissions officers are having a hard time because they can't predict how many people will accept their admissions officers and the financial crisis and the effect it is is having on higher education and stuff like that.

This made me so happy!

I just got like a burst of energy! Hahaha!

Just wondering, is your status the same on the financial and the application website?

I lost my password for the application site and I'm too lazy to call them.

There's a status on the financial aid website?

yeah in your my financial aid and documents the first link.... i think its like my admissions checklist it says it there!

Ooooooooh. Okay.

here's the article mentioned in post 723:

Colleges share applicants' anxiety - Los Angeles Times

thankkkkkkk youuuuuu for that good news. the funny thing is i just got accepted to the public university (rutgers) here in jersey, and am pretty sure i dont have to pay a dollar toward anything. :)

its a shame that my heart is set on USC and i wishhhh they would just hand out admission letters for transfers already!

Question: if you're waitlisted, they don't offer you any direct financial aid plan, right? I guess they can't offer you a scholarship but then tell you you're waitlisted... which means the 8% will go to the smaller acceptance pool?

I thought you couldn't be wait listed that your just put in the spring semester

Yeah I'm pretty sure that USC does not use a waitlist.

argh spring admit would both be awesome (cause I still got to go to USC) but suck at the same time cause then I would have nothing to do for another 6 months :( but at the same time I'll take what I can get :)

I'd rather be spring admit than rejected.

here here .

I thought if you are a spring admit that you have to attend a CC for a semester...

I guess I'm wrong hahaha

yeah seriously way rather be a spring admit then nothing!!!
does anyone know how they choose the spring people

I'm guessing the people they don't really want to reject but don't want as much as the people who start in fall?

Or people that could definitely survive there, but the freshman class for fall has filled up so the closest alternative is spring semester.
