What EXACTLY do I give teachers who are writing me a recommendation?

<p>I have been really confused with this for a long time and must resolve this issue. I need to give my applications/papers/whatever to the 2 teachers who are writing my recommendations, and I do not know what to give them...</p>

<p>Can someone type a list of everything I need to hand?</p>

<p>Say I was applying to 15 schools (hypothetically, of course)
1. A Teacher Evalulation for EACH school? I'm not sure.
2. The teacher writes ONE letter and copies it 15 times, right?
3. All I know so far is envelopes and stamps for each school...
4. Anything extra? suggestions?
5. Anything I haven't mentioned
6. Thank you letter? Or do I give it after s/he finishes the letters?</p>

<p>So if anyone could type a list of exactly what I should hand each teacher, I would be eternally grateful!!! I don't want to make it seem like I'm stupid and not give the right materials...</p>

<p>If you are applying via the Common App Online and are not attending a high school that uses Naviance, you need to invite your teachers via the School Forms page in the application. Search through other threads for reams of information on how to do this. Or read the instructions in the online app.</p>

<p>Regarding all the stuff you are talking about giving your teachers, I’ll paraphrase a wise post from a wise poster (<a href=“http://■■■■■■■/X8VbQ):%5B/url%5D”>http://■■■■■■■/X8VbQ):</a>
Colleges want teachers to talk about you as a student in their classrooms. Did you contribute too little? Too much? Did you engage the material? Your classmates? Your teacher? Were you respectful of other opinions even if they differed form your own? That is the kind of insight that only teachers can provide. The least helpful information would be that which is already presented elsewhere in the application.</p>

<p>Whoa, whoa, whoa. What is this about online stuff? My high school DOES use Naviance. Do I need to do anything with that?</p>

<p>Yes, I’m using the Common App for several schools… Do I need to connect my Naviance account to it?</p>

<p>ETA: Sorry, I haven’t used Naviance very much before. I just found the page where I can connect it to my Common App account. So this means my teachers can just go in to Naviance and submit their recommendations there? Is there any kind of form I need to give them to do this, or is it all set up?</p>

<p>Wait how do you connect your naviance and common app accounts?</p>

<p>Go to the “Colleges” tab, and then “Colleges I’m Applying To.” There should be an option there to link it to your Common App account.</p>
