What factors does Rutgers look at for Admissions ONLY?

I'm applying to the Rutgers School of Business with a 3.36 UW and 1630/1160 SAT. My Senior courseload is also weak in my opinion.

However, I have some extremely unique extra circulars and I need to know if the EC's effect admissions and not just scholarships. I run my own Sole Proprietorship and designed the website for a million dollar company, and Senior Year I'm talking 3 business related courses (Business Law, Business & Electronics Communications, and Introduction to Information). I'm afraid based on GPA/Tests alone I won't be admitted. I do have a positive trend, though. My freshman gpa was 2.9, sophomore was 3.3, and the Junior was 3.9. Will they take that into account?

So my question is:
Does Rutgers take into consideration your EC's and Essay for admission? I'll be applying Early Action.

edit: Also! I cannot find a place to submit my SAT/ACT scores. The application or SRAR do not ask for them. Where do I submit them?

No college/university has you submit SAT/ACT scores directly on the application…

You go to collegeboard.org and actstudent.org respectiely and send score reports to Rutgers and other schools on your list

They will take the positive trend into account, though I’m not sure how much stock they put into E.C.'s - public universities tend to base admissions more on test scores and GPA and class rank

There are places on the Rutgers application to briefly describe your ECs and an essay opportunity to shine as well, isn’t there? New Brunswick has higher entry stats than Newark, and so you may have a very good shot at that option, so it’s nice that you can apply to multiple campuses. Do you plan to take the SAT again, and did you take the ACT? Sometimes the ACT is a much better representation for students. I think if your test scores were higher, it would compensate for the GPA issue, but the upward trend is great. Just a gentle reminder to watch your spelling in the essay.

The thing is, I heard that most state universities look mostly at the numbers in regards to admission as opposed to private schools. I took the SAT again last Saturday and am taking the ACT at the end of October.

Do you think I may be waitlisted because of the trend? They may want to see if I can keep the trend up during Senior year, that would be scary. I have other EC’s, but the two I mentioned are big enough when applying to a Business school in my opinion. I put them on the application and the essay, but do you also think it is appropriate to call to schedule and admissions interview after I apply?

As i recall, you don’t really become a business major freshman year although you may take one or two courses. Read the business and the sas web sites very carefully about this cause i forget the details, and especially compare the stats for admission. I believe you would apply separately for the school of business and the sas, but you are allowed to apply to both. What i do recall is the business school allows very generously for people transferring in with little or no cost to graduation date. Check it out. Rutgers admissions told me they may not allow references, but they take the application essay and ecs very seriously.

Definitely go talk to them if you can. Even taking a general tour raises your chances.
