There's a section (under "Education") for "Honors"; however, each activity in "Activities" also has a space for "Details, honors, and accomplishments".

So, how do I differentiate between what goes where? Does anything I won as a direct result of an activity only go under the activity? Or should the "honors" section overlap some with activity honors? For example, would the following:

-Math contest awards (USAMO, PUMaC, HMMT, ARML, etc.)
-Honors on Science Olympiads (USNCO, USAPhO, etc.)
-Science Bowl (or quiz bowl) victories

go under the appropriate activity headings, under honors, or both?

And if, e.g., math contest awards go under "Activities", are we supposed to list each contest separately or put them all in one (which probably won't fit :( )?

I put honors on Science Olympiads under the “Honors” section because I didn’t have enough space to list them as activities. It’s a tough choice to make though because of the space constraints, so I’m trying to figure this out as well. Let me know what you decide!

As I understand it, the Honors section under Education is solely for academic awards - NHS, National Merit, AP scholar awards, school awards, etc. - whereas the ‘Details, honors and accomplishments’ section in Activities is for your other extracurricular awards. So all your awards would fall under the Activities section. As for fitting all the math contest awards - try your best! If you’re listing the years, leave those out because those aren’t required bits of info. If that doesn’t help, try to say 'multiple regional (or whatever) awards for ____ place" or something of the sort.

Honors is also where you would put any gifted and talented courses, people often ask about that…
