What good college in California for Undergrad Business?

Hey guys.

So currently, my GPA weighted is a 4.0 (I’m a junior) and it will most likely stay at a 4.0 until the end of my senior year or be above a 4.0. My SAT goal is 2000 however, I’m at a 1840 at the moment. I was wondering if you guys could give me tips on good business schools I can get into with these stats. I have won two medals in FBLA and have been selling online (side business) since 2012. It’d be preferable if I can commute there (Southern California) but what good colleges can I get into?

Anyone? Need this ASAP

How “ASAP” do you really need suggestions as a junior?

I need them so that I can talk to my counselor about it…

Schools to look at with your weighted 4.0 GPA and 1840 test scores:
UC Riverside and Irvine
San Diego State, Cal State Fullerton, Cal Poly SLO/Pomona, San Jose State
Chapman/Santa Clara

Thanks for your answer!
However, which college out of those you listed is best in your opinion for business?

Where in Southern California do you live? Victorville and San Ysidro are both considered to be in SoCal but I sure wouldn’t want to commute from one of those cities to the other.

Southern Calif is a big area. If you want to commute, then you need to be more specific…

Why do you want to commute?

I live in Orange County.

If you want to commute then look at UCI and Cal state fullerton these are the closest reputable business schools from orange county. But calculate your UC GPA capped that needs to be a 4.1 with around a 2100 on the SAT if you want a shot at UCI’s super impacted business school. You should get into Cal state fullerton and you can easily commute there from orange county

How about Chapman university? I hear my friends say that Chapman is better for business than Fullerton?

-Biola University
-Cal State Fullerton
-Chapman University
-USC (If you raise your scores)

I’d also say Loyola Marymount & Pepperdine, but they aren’t really in commuting distance.

Out of those colleges, which is the best for undergrad business?

USC is the best, but it might be too far for commuting. Even with commuting, Biola is decent but if you’re interested in any kind of social life at school know that it is a very conservative evangelical Christian school. UC Irvine should be what you reach for, just get those test scores up and you definitely have a shot. Chapman is pretty good too, and CSUF is alright.

You REALLY need to raise your GPA to a 4.1 UC weighted or 3.7 Unweighted for USC and UCI as well as raise that SAT to a 2100 or ACT to a 31 if you want a shot

Have you tried the Net Price Calculators for the schools on your initial list? You may find that you have more options if you are willing to live away from home versus commuting to a more expensive college close to home.

What’s your parents’ budget?
Is commuting a personal preference (in which case you greatly reduce your choices) or a parental requirement (related to what? can be made flexible?)

Chapman is definitely your best choice, hands down!

I do not want to go to USC because I don’t want to die paying my loans. My parents aren’t that rich. Also, I am capable of getting into the CSUF honors business program so would that not be better than just a regular business program at Chapman or Biola or anywhere?

USC meets need, so if your parents truly “aren’t that rich”, USC may well end up cheaper than Chapman or a CSU to which you can’t commute.
Have you run the Net Price Calculator?
What’s your EFC?
What’s your parents’ budget?
I would consider Chapman’s business school to be better than CSUF’s business program, even honors.
Biola and Pepperdine are very specific types of schools (conservative evangelical) which are excellent if you want to grow in your faith but which can’t be chosen lightly just on location or based on the pretty campus.
