What GPA did you have inorder to get in? Also, is Vanderbilt able to put people through school?

I had a 3.71 I believe when I applied. If you mean financial aid wise they are amazing. They are willing to cover 100% of what you need according to the FAFSA without loans. I love Vanderbilt and couldn’t be there without that help.

Thank you! What state are you from?

I don’t remember the average GPA, but the average class rank for Vanderbilt was 4th in the class.

^Wait, 4th as in 1 (val.), 2 (sal.), 3, 4 or 4th as in top 4%?

No. Like 1, 2, 3, [4]. Of course, you have to take that with a grain of salt … there are lots of high schools, and not all high schools are the same. This is what the head Admissions dean said during the welcome speech (I think.) Please correct me if I’m wrong, I’ve been known to spout bad information =D.

the only way that’s possible is if the median rank is 4th (which i still find dubious). i bet the average rank is top 4%

Anotherazn, you are definitely incorrect.

Haha, Wanderers you’re probably right. Anyway, main point to get from this: it’s definitely high. But still, you can’t really change your GPA and I wouldn’t worry too much about it anyways. Every school is different, has a different way of calculating GPA, and so on so forth. Focus is more on what classes you take (level of difficulty) and whether you challenged yourself or not.
