What grades/extracurriculars do I need to get into UC Santa Barbara?

I live in NorCal and UCSB is my dream school right now . I'm a freshmen and I currently have 3.6 weighted gpa. I'm taking two honors classes, one accelerated, and French 2 (even though I'm a freshmen and supposed to be at French 1).

I'm currently a freshmen class officer on student council , I've played piano for 10 years, basketball for 6, and I do CrossFit 2 times a week as well as dance camp each summer. I take art classes once a week, and I am in my school's Fashion Club, Leadership Academy, and Speech and Debate .

I know its SUPER early to be thinking about this because I'm just a frosh in high school, but please help me out and let me know what extracuriculars and grades I should aim to get if I want to go to UCSB.

Also if you go to UCSB ..how do you like it ? The social scene is a big factor for me!

IT IS NOT TOO EARLY TO WORRY ABOUT COLLEGE! I wish I had been more knowledgeable about this entire process during my freshman year. You’re an instate applicant, which will make the school cheaper, but a little more competitive. UC’s like out of state (OOS) applicants because they bring in more money. The average SAT at UCSB is about 1900 and the average GPA is 4 weighted using the UC system (it’s different than you high school’s.)
To get in, I would suggest continuing your EC’s because they are good, but most importantly, focus on your grades. UC schools only count soph and junior year so work hard. Good luck!

Ditto.

Focus on your grades and scores. Try to get 4.1 or 4.2 weighed at the minimum and keep your unweighed grades above 3.7. Score at least 2000 on the SATs.

Your ECs are fine as of now, but do not sacrifice grades for more ECs.

Thank you! Should I add any ECs if I can handle it though?

Do what you like, of course, but your ECs are fine as they are.
