Hi everybody,

Have you had any experience about this? They are still reviewing my application (STEP 3). 2 days ago, I checked AIS, and figured out that they changed my 1st choice-Petroleum Engineering to 2nd choice-Civil Engineering. Does it mean they reject me in the 1st choice??

I am so worried about that!

More than likely by now, Petroleum Engineering is at capacity.

OMG, It is so sad!
But, could I switch to Petro Dept. after I got admitted from A&M?? Or I have to stick with 2nd choice major …forever… Y_Y… because I really want to study about Petroleum Engineering.

I got accepted from Texas Tech Uni-- Petroleum Engr, should I go there if PETE from A&M is full?

Thanks for replying me aGGieENGiNeeR.

Yeah petroleum engineering is likely full, and yes you can transfer in after a semesters worth of attending A&M if your gpa is high enough; you could also transfer in from another institution eventually as well.

You should go wherever you want to go.

I would not take Texas Tech out of the question either. Texas Tech has a location advantage. They are right next to a whole lot of oil fields. If you want to start out in Petroleum Engineering from the beginning, I would actually consider Texas Tech which is really not a bad option at all. If you are willing to wait and take a chance that you can pull high enough grades, then try for A&M.

Thanks all for very useful advice. I will wait for A&M. I think it’s worth…

I’ll post the result as I got the decision (even I got rejected… ) ^^

Again, thank you guys very much!.
