Hey do any of you guys know what happens during WELCOME week for freshmen? alright thanks a lot. bye.

As a new undergraduate student at UC Berkeley, you will find Welcome Week to be full of many exciting opportunities to become acquainted with your new campus and surroundings.

Upon arrival and check-in to your new residence, you will be issued a gun, along with a small pack containing water, a first-aid kit, two-way radio, and a length of rope. Take a good look at those around you; they are not your friends.

At midnight, a bell will sound, signaling the beginning of Welcome Week. It's best to first find cover, preferably in the Berkeley Hills. Be aware that the City of Oakland and the Berkeley Marina are off-limits; failure to acknowledge this will result in an immediate elimination. The first night is always the worst, but soon fear will turn to motivation. Trust your instincts; they're your only friends now. Remember to conserve ammunition.

Another bell will sound on Friday at midnight. Welcome Week will then be over. If you're alive, congratulations. Your administrative block will be lifted, and you are free to attend classes.

University regulations prevent further disclosure of details at this time, but remember: the goal of Welcome Week is to have fun!

so welcome week doesn't = battle royale? shucks...

While the University seeks an original, innovative way to welcome new students, denying the influence of Battle Royale is difficult. One important difference is that the number survivors is not limited to only one; UC Berkeley is committed to a diverse student body, and this is only possible when there are at least two survivors.

Hahaha, I love it MrMuir!

haha very funny, exceedingly witty indeed.

I'll bring a sword.

and i'll bring a light saber.

Welcome week in the dorms = getting acquainted with your roommates. There'll be some activities on campus, but probably nothing too interesting.

For a split second, I accually thought the "gun" was true cause of the neighborhood thing with bums, which scared the crap out of me.

I'll bring a pen, which is mightier than the sword.

Don't know about the lightsaber though.

you get drunk every night; go up to frat row, theres parties every night

Basically.

I'm making your blurb my official berkeley away message. Hope you don't mind MrMuir.

Hmm...can we bring our own weapons? If we can, I need to mail order my AK47 from Somalia ASAP. I heard shipping (via "ground", which means by Somalia Pirates Express) takes approximately of 4 weeks to 4 months, depending on the ships that they hijack at the time. Also, can we shoot the people supplying the ammo to us, just like in Grand Theft Auto?

Thanks in advance.

i love battle royale--i only wish, you know, to increase diversity, that not everyone is given a gun...mix up the weapons a little.
