Will I no longer be considered for admission to a school if they are missing/never received a supplement that I mailed?

Depends on the school.

For most schools, it’s not too late right now to re-send those.

Once the school starts assessing applications and compiling all materials they should know what part (if any) of a student’s application is missing. At that point, I would expect that they would e-mail you if they are missing anything, so that you can mail it once again.

^^^^ Do you think colleges would just automatically never pursue incomplete files? Never contact you or the schools if an item or two were missing? That they would just absorb your your app fee and leave you hanging?

Doesn’t sound like a good way to run a business. What do you think?

If you were a college administrator who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to elicit applicants, what standard of follow up would you expect from your staff?

It sounds fantastic if you have no scruples. If someone pays the application fee but doesn’t bother to fill out the application, that’s a net profit for the school and less work for the staff.

In actuality though, most schools aren’t that evil. If there’s a problem they will probably tell you. I’ve gotten bombarded with letters from colleges that actually had the supplements but were having a hard time matching it to the main application. Colleges will be nice to you because they want to have as many qualified applicants as possible.

Based on our experience in the EA round, most colleges follow up on applications that are missing some elements. We had one snafu with my son’s high school that ended up not mattering at all–stuff that was a MONTH late was just added to the file. He also got admitted to one college with a file that was officially incomplete as of when early action decisions were made. Don’t worry if you are meeting your student deadline for submitting the main application form.

Yes, the colleges aren’t evil. Every EA or ED applicant will be deferred into the regular decision pool if they didn’t send in all of their materials.

T26E4 , I highly doubt many colleges will do this. If the file is incomplete, the college should/will contact you about it.

I sent my transcripts to a school early October. Site still indicates missing :x My friends who sent it later than I did have it marked off. Should I email the office about it or wait a couple of days?
