I already sent in my applications for my early action schools before the November 1st deadline. I sent my SAT scores before the deadline as well, but I don’t think they’ll get to the college before November 1st. Would the school then have to consider me for regular decision or not even consider me at all? :-<
Colleges aren’t here to screw you. You’re potentially the source of a quarter of a million dollars, if you think about it.
They’ll work with you if at all possible within reason. You’re fine.
^Tell your school that your SAT will be late
There are a small number of colleges that do want all materials including test scores to be in their hands by Nov 1 and if scores arrive late you will be kicked over to regular admission. UMich is one of those and those that have that rule tell you on their sites. Otherwise, for most with EA and ED Nov 1 app deadlines, the scores can arrive after the app deadline and many of them even take Nov SAT scores for EA or ED. For all of those you are fine if you have already ordered scores sent. For that small number like UMich, you have a possible issue but even for those your scores have a decent chance of being delivered by Nov 1. Most colleges now have online accounts with College Board into which CB dumps test scores when ordered sent, with the result that sending and delivery occur simultaneously, and when that occurs simply depends on how fast CB fills your order and puts your scores in that account, which is very often a week or less after you make an order to send scores…
thanks so much!!!
