<p>Hey guys, I've been wondering, what high schools do you go to, if its private/ public, whats your average SAT score, GPA, and if it is nationally ranked. I'm trying to see if your score is affected by your high school</p>
<p>Ill start it off.</p>
<p>My SAT: 2040
My GPA: 4.27
Clovis East High School
Public
Average SAT's: 1350 SAT's (New) (If you dont know, you could guess or convert it to the new scale.)
My High School is defiantly not ranked.</p>
<p>My Sat: 2120
My GPA: 3.74 UW (Washington State does not weigh grades..)
Public High School
Average SAT's: Old-1050 Not sure about new according to some scale it would be around 1530
My High School couldn't get ranked in anything but sports if it tried...</p>
<p>My SAT: haven't officially taken it yet actually, but I assume it will be 2200~2350. (probably M: 800, CR: 680~760, W: 720~790)
My GPA: 97%
Number one public high school in Canada; extremely competitive; one of the top IB schools in the world.</p>
<p>My SAT: 2220 (800M =D lol)
My GPA: about 96.5-97%
Townsend Harris High School- best public school in queens (NY) or w/e and it IS better than Stuyvesant, but people reconize the name Stuyvesant more, grrrr
Public
Average SAT's: i dont know, but a few dfferent teachers have said, that for such a good school that it is, the scores are on the low side (i dont know what they mean by low though)</p>
<p>coolnessrookie... how can u just predict your score like that?? you havent even taken the test at all... lol</p>
<p>My ACT: Haven't Taken It
My GPA: 93%
Murrah High School
Average ACT Score: 24
My high school is the top academic high school in our district. We have great sports teams, except the football team. :-(</p>
<p>SAT: 2140 (last was a 1950, i dont feel like doing math and averaging)
GPA: 3.14 (It's weird, i just fail languages)
Philadelphia's best high school (private) ranked 11th in the nation for cost/value ratio in the wall street journal at some point. Usually 25 are accepted into UPenn out of a class of 90.</p>
<p>SAT: 2400
GPA: 3.4 (I have no excuses)
Small parochial school in rural Iowa
Average SAT: I have no idea. Most people here take the ACT.
National Ranking: puhlease......but we were state champions in basketball my junior year....I was 6th man and averaged about 7 points and 4 turnovers a game.</p>
<p>Why does it seem like the better of a high school you go to, the -normally- the higher the SAT? I dont think they are on average smarter? Is it because of the difficulty of curriculm? Or do privates offer prep services?</p>
<p>SAT scores are highly correlated with socioeconomic status - mucgh more so than with acatual academic achievement. The best predictor of high SAT's is being a student at an affluent public high school or an independent (not parochial) private school</p>
<p>SAT: (haven't taken officially, but in practice tests) 700CR, 800M, 750W
SAT 2: Math IC: 800, Math IIC: 800, Physics: 800 (I am a junior and will take chemistry and biology in december)
GPA: 5.00/5.00 (unweighted) (Our country's education system is different. You cannot choose classes until the junior year, and from every class, you are given a grade in a scale of 1-5. If you never get a 4, your GPA becomes 5.00) (rank: 1/220) (I am taking IB classes now, 4 high levels with special permission from IB organization) (most demanding available) (Some students self study ap exams-I am preparing for ap calculus bc, ap statistics, ap biology, ap chemistry, ap physics B [and maybe ap world history and ap english language and composition])
The Koc School, Turkey
One of the best private schools in Turkey (maybe next to Robert College, yet)
SAT average (about): 550CR, 550W (I know it is pathetic but we are international students), 750M (Almost half the class gets 800 from math without any preparation)</p>
