We give our family the jam advent calendars at Christmas and open all the doors on boxing day. We then split them up between ourselves and my daughter and enjoy them throughout the year.

I just ordered the beauty advent calendars from Anthropologie for both of my daughters. D1’s fiance is getting the Legos Guardians of the Galaxy advent calendar. I think the will all love them.

D1 wants a Jade bangle. I have been researching. I didn’t realize there could be such a wide range of pricing (quality). I guess it’s kind of like pearls.

My daughter and I are planning on creating a 12 days of Christmas or Advent calendar (haven’t decided how many gifts yet) gift for my husband. Going to include a bunch of whiskey nips and then supplementing with other little items that he likes. There are a few different boxes/bags on Amazon we can use to create this.

D came by this morning and asked about advent calendars (she know’s it’s my thing). I said I had them all. She asked about the dogs 
. I said none for the dogs because S’s dog is on a restricted diet. After she left I found a toy one for S’s dog and a treat one for D’s. Everyone will be here at Thanksgiving and looks forward to it so it’s all good.

I have gifts I’ve been buying all year. I just checked today to see what I already have purchased…and I have really nice socks for everyone! You know…socks really need to be replaced!

Advent calendars: Whisky for S, specialty jerky for D’s fiancé (not that he’s a jerk, he just really likes jerky), shower steamers/bath bombs for D, Oliviers & Co from Williams Sonoma for DIL, hot sauce assortment for H, Fisher-Price Little People Toddler Toys for GD (she’s the easiest to buy for).
I started early & look for highly rated products.

So that’s been my question- you give the Advent calendars on Christmas? And people open them each day thereafter? Unfortunately I feel like I’m the only one in my family that would appreciate that (so I guess I should be buying some for me!). I can see my three sons, and the dog if allowed, just opening all of it at once. While making some wisecracks. Sigh. I can’t wait to have some daughters-in-law!
Today I saw some fancy tea and some Bombas socks that I’m putting on my suggestion list for my sons. My only ideas for them so far are Penzy gift cards/spices for the one who likes to cook creatively and Hello Fresh gift cards for the one who doesn’t. (Someone had gifted him a trial and he was telling me how much he liked it). Two may get the Halo battery charger with air compressor. The other one and I have one and we both have used it several times.

The Rituals one is pricey and a splurge, but it’s for D at grad school and since it becomes a tree with lights and gifts it is a decoration for her apartment as well.

The Missouri Star Quilt Co has an Avent Calendar that looks sort of like an over the door shoe rack that would hold little spice jars. You might be able to find something like it at Michael’s or JoAnn’s.
I need something that my kids can take to college and bring home over winter break. I’m thinking more of something with boxes. I’ll head to Michaels and see if they have anything that might work.
