What if I get accepted to a school in junior year and then have a change of heart?

I'm a Canadian secondary student who will be eligible for graduation next year.

Right now I'm thinking of applying to some Canadian universities next year, even though my target school is Duke. I want the option of heading to university early just in case I find that I'm under too much stress.

I'm about 90% sure that I will stay for senior year but anything could happen. If I do get into my target Canadian schools (University of Toronto, for example) but choose to stay for senior year, what would happen? I foresee these situations.

1) I turn down the schools but I am welcome to reapply in senior year.

2) I turn down the schools and they put me on a list of undesirables, making it hard for me to get in again.

3) I turn down the schools but the offers of admissions still stand, I am welcome to enroll in the following year. (I'm 99% sure this is impossible)

What would typically happen?

Situation one would most likely happen. Of course, you must say that you are interested and see yourself in their campuses.

Actually, I was accepted by a university last year, but I decided to attend another university. However, I realized that I wanted to attend the university that I didn’t accept the offer at first. I reapplied and I was accepted.

There is a limit in the number of times to apply for some universities, but applying 2 times should be within the limit.

Also, remember that it won’t hurt you to stay in high school for your senior year because it will give you a chance to raise your SAT scores, raise your Grades/GPA (for at least one semester), and mature enough to be ready for college. Also, you should take into account that Duke is your dream school and you said that you’re not applying to it until your senior year. However, if you are confident that your grades, scores, and maturity are good enough, then I do not think that applying during your junior year would hurt. It could be beneficial for you.
