I live close to OSU-Newark and I want to have that as a backup in case I decide the affordability is worth it. Do I have to fill out a separate application for OSU-Newark or does the Common App for OSU encompass all campuses?
I believe if you apply early you select Newark as the alternate branch, if you are denied at main you will be automatically considered for admission and merit/financial aid at Newark. If you think you would enjoy Newark you may want to look at what additional incentives they are offering if you choose Newark as your first choice location. In Marion they offer an additional $500. But if you are accepted at main, but don’t accept the offer I don’t know the answer. You may want to talk to someone at the Newark campus so you know exactly what the consequences of that may be. It’s possible you’d have to apply again to Newark and since a lot of aid is awarded first come first served that might mean a much smaller package. Some one at Newark should also be able to review your stats to help you determine a ballpark figure. Don’t they have new dorms there, too? If so, think about getting housing on that campus even if commuting is possible, you can save on transportation costs and feel more connected to the college.
