what happens if i miss the financial aid form deadline? lol.

Depends on the school. If you missed a priority FAFSA deadline, I would do it immediately, like right now, and then call and ask them if there is anything you can do to be considered for all available aid. The issue is whether they will put you in that pile (public school) and whether they still have aid left to give (private school)

Chances are the aid has not been distributed, but some public schools are entirely by the letter of the law and will not budge.

^ Agree, at overburdened public schools you may be out of luck, but at privates it likely depends on how much they want a candidate, so deadlines can be soft to some (unknown) degree.

the f.a forms are just for top schools who meet 100% aid.
im going to submit them tomorrow.
deadline was today i think.

I realize this is an online board but to me “lol” is not something I would put about missing deadlines. Schools have deadlines for a REASON. Missing them is no laughing matter. You need to contact your school(s) to find out if they will consider your late application for financial aid. Some will and some won’t.

You also need to know that there is some aid that is first come/first served because schools have limited funds for certain kinds of need based aid. By missing the deadline, you could have missed out on aid you might have otherwise been eligible for.

Schools have deadlines for a REASON. They need time to process your financial aid application.

I totally agree with thumper (as I usually do!) in that missing deadlines is very serious. It is serious in every aspect, whether it’s for a school paper, a submission of forms, or anything. Students today (I am a teacher) think that we impose deadlines to be mean or arbitrary. That is not the case. They exist for a reason, and the faster kids get it, the better they will do in life. DO NOT MISS DEADLINES. EVER AGAIN.
