What if your a "febbie"

would you still choose midd if you were accepted as a "febbie"?

How do they do that?

The school tells you that you have been accepted for Feb 06. On your application you had to check a box as to whether or not you would agree to come in February.

Yes, I would. Midd is still my 1st choice whether or not I come in the winter. :)

ahhh a febbie...i have to say no..i wouldnt choose middd......my friend was actually accepted to brandeis..as a febbie...therefore she doesnt know how much fin aid she would receive..so shes like AHHHH!

if i was gutsier i think i would have APPLIED as a febbie. however, the whole skiing diploma thing is a bit nerve-racking for me.

I am a current student and my decision to accept Feb admission and take the semester off was one of the best I've ever made, and anyone else in my class would tell you that as well. I worked all summer in a bookstore, spent two months traveling in Ireland, and then worked the remaining two months when I got back in the elementary school in my town. It was so awesome to be able to have a full-time job, backpack independently, and help younger kids all in one semester. The time flew by. Lots of people work, some people travel, some people hang out, some people spend a semester at another school... there are tons of different things you can do.

If you get the opportunity, consider it a complement and SEIZE IT!! Febs are people the college sees as being able to adjust easily to any situation, including starting and finishing college a semester later than most people. Whatever you do, don't think of it as being "sort of rejected" or whatever, its exactly the opposite. Middlebury wants you, but they know you are capable of waiting a semester to come in. If they didn't think you would be able to thrive at Middlebury, they wouldn't have accepted you. Every Feb class (and september class as well!) is full of people who are motivated, enthusiastic, and really hit the ground running.

Yeah, I would seriously kill to be admitted for Feb entry. It's my first choice; I'd pretty much do exactly what sjj86 is talking aobut. I'd work in a bookstore, travel around, and then volunteer at my old high school as a math teacher/tutor :)

Definitely no.

Is anyone nervous about tomorrow morning? I can't wait...

I'm terrified!!!!!

Good, Liana! You just made me feel a heck of a whole lot better... :)

LOL that's great. I'm sooo scared right now! After I got waitlisted by Carleton I was like everything is going to hellllll

I think we're all terrified... At least Carleton didn't reject you, don't you think? Where else did you apply?

yeah I was actually very excited that Carleton waitlisted me because I was 100% sure they would reject me. It was a really weird feeling... like being like, "OH MY GOD! I GOT WAITLISTED!!! YES YES YES!!!!"

I applied to Williams, Middlebury, Colby, Carleton (waitlisted obviously), SUNY-Binghamton (accepted), Johns Hopkins, Oberlin, Grinnell, Wellesley, Union

where did you apply?

I applied to Harvard, Yale, Middlebury, Datmouth and Smith. And I know the feeling you're describing - I was shocked to be deferred EA by Harvard... We'll see what happens. They are all very hard to get into. What are your decision dates? Tomorrow for Midd, then what?

I think I'm receiving everything else in the mail. I lost my username/password to Colby so I can't check the decision.

I see... I think I still have everything. Smith is the only one I think I'll only get in the mail (since I'm an Ada). Everywhere else will either post the decision or send an e-mail.

man...gr..im soo angry...i lost my id and pw...and umm now theres no way of finding out...tomorrow..u think ill get the mail tomorrow?

hi there! i applied ed1 to middlebury and they had sent the stuff with ups and it was like express shipping or something like that. so yeah i do think you will get it tomorrow. Good luck!!
