What info is required with supp rec?

so if i were to send a supplemental rec letter, what information has to be on there so that it can be matched with my file?

should i give my recommender a post-it note with my common app ID on it so they can put it in the envelope? will that suffice?

also, is it okay if the letter gets there, say, 1-2 weeks after the jan 1st deadline (assuming my app isn’t reviewed until a few weeks after)?

yeah it seems like my addt'l rec won't be going in on time either. my recommender was kinda busy and somehow is not available at the moment either so it's prob gonna go in after Jan 1st. I know someone who had their teacher rec sent in 2 weeks after jan 1st and still got into the school (stanford).

but i just used what stanford required on the header of their addt'l rec: name, common app id number, birthdate, and school.

does brown like supp recs?

cause on the website somewhere i THINK it says that
"having a stack of rec letters isn't that favorable"

or something along the lines of that

If you really, really think it will make a difference in a positive way, then I guess go for it. But only if the stuff that rec says is different from the others/shows another side of you.

I didn't do the Common App ID number, school, or birthdate-- I just put my SSN on all of my forms/papers.

yeah i saw the "stack of extra letters" thing, but i'm just sending one extra.

so i should have my recommender put my SSN at the top of the letter?
