Please be realistic. Don't exaggerate but don't give a low score either. Thanks.

42 .

Can you be more specific? What are you referring to, ACTs, SATs, Subject Tests, or all three?

My feeling is that 2300 on SATI, 750 on SATIIs (or 780 on MathII because of the easy curve), or 34 on ACT could be considered “neutral” scores–they will neither hurt you or help you, and the attention will shift to other factors. But there will be people who get in with lower, and rejected with higher. This judgment is based on having read the actual results threads from past years’ applicants, which may be skewed.

I’m worried because my SAT I score isn’t good enough. It’s over 2000 but it’s not over 2300, so I’m afraid that’ll kick me out. However, I think that all other parts of my application, including the interview, essays, and recs, will be great. Should I be worried? :S

If you have no interest, ability, or opportunity to get that score up, there is no point in worrying–it is what it is. So what if it drops your odds from 7% to 4%?–it is still lottery ticket.

Don’t go paranoid. Just take the SAT again if you really want a 2300+.
