What is a movement workshop?

Hey! I was just wondering what you do at a movement workshop at a BFA acting college audition. Any help would be awesome. THANKS! :)

It’s usually mostly mime, with a bit of dance. More like a combination of the two, without entirely being one or the other. Be sure to dress appropriately. There will be someone facilitating, or teaching, the workshop. They will tell you what to do.

Just relax and enjoy yourself.

KEVP

Movement is all about expression of your body. It will probably be a long session cause there are several warm ups but it is one of my D’s favorite classes when she has dong conservatory workshops! Have fun and be open to trying strange things with your body cause they will want to be sure that you are comfotabe with taking risks.

I’m looking at post #3 and I’m thinking – I was not even at my computer at 1:30 today! I then remembered that I probably left College Confidential up on my home computer this morning so someone else (my D) has decided to impersonate me. I’ll have to tell her to get her own CC name! Anyways, it is probably the most reliable post under the name ActingDad as it is not based on second hand info.

So any tips on how to nail this part of the audition? And also what should i wear for this part?

Katie - did you see what the Pace admissions guy posted to the other post? I think he described it there…
