What is a normal amount of hours/week for total activities?

<p>After a discussion with a friend about total hours spent on ECs per week, she thinks my number is crazy and that adcoms will think I'm exaggerating/making stuff up.</p>

<p>I don't really have anything to compare it to. I'm not going to change my numbers so that they look more realistic because I was very honest with my commitments, but I was wondering what is considered typical for applicants at top schools?</p>

<p>I don’t think that’s ridiculous. Especially if you have one or two really time consuming activities. Personally, I listed 20 hours per week on a single activity. I actually spend that much time on it.</p>
