As the title says, what, in your opinion, is an acceptable ACT score for an unhooked applicant to JHU? I realize that there are a variety of other factors that are important, but assuming that the applicant has very strong extracurriculars and a high class rank, what ACT would be necessary?

There isn’t really a required ACT school. Its more relative to the other academic factor. (like GPA, Individual class grades, and ranking). Say if you have a 4.0 and took a couple AP classes but only have a 31 ACT, it isn’t worse (IMO) than a 3.8 GPA student who took the same amount of difficult classes but has a 33 ACT. I say that as long as your have all of the sections in the ACT above 30, your good. But if you want a range, I’d say that any thing above a 31/32 is good. Remember, the middle 50% of the students accepted to JHU have an ACT score of 31-34.
