I was wondering if any current uga students could tell me what’s campus like. For example what’s it like on a typical day, what kind of activities are there to do on campus, how long are classes, is the food good, etc. I wanted to visit the campus but I didn’t have the opportunity, so if anyone could give me a review about uga that would great. Also do anyone know ic it’s hard to be accepted as a homeschooled student?
Thanks
It’s pretty standard as far as college campuses go, sprawling, green, and crowded as heck during class changes. The buildings are pretty spread out but once you start working on your core classes for your degree you’ll mostly just hang out in the same few buildings. There’s also buses that can ferry you from one side to the other if you’re not keen on hiking.
Class length depends on how may days a week you have that particular class. So you’re looking at 1 to 3 hours per class (for 3 credit classes).
There’s a ton of clubs and things but you may have to dig around to find them. I don’t tend to see people running around recruiting so it’s up to you to find out what’s around and who to contact about joining but if you ask around you should be able to dig up something that interests you.
As for acceptance chances, depends on what you’ve been doing in your spare time to make you stand out from other candidates. Volunteer activities, weird hobbies, internships. You just need to find whatever makes you look like the most interesting man/woman in the world so those reviewing your application remember you.
Thank you
