If you google “high school profile”, you may be able to find a few sample ones from U.S. high schools. Good luck!

thank you!

How is the school profile used in admissions?

Colleges use the profile to put your transcript and academic achievement into context.
If your school only offer three APs, the schools your applying to will see that and understand the opportunities that you had available.
As I heard in an info session at Dartmouth, “The school profile shows us what the average student is doing at your school. It gives us a baseline.”

How does the school submit this information? Is it to be submitted alongside the Secondary School Report? Because the space in the SSR is the counselor’s letter, I’m wondering how my counselor is supposed to submit this school profile.

Whoever is in charge of mailing out those transcripts and school reports will know to include a copy of your school profile in the same envelope. It should be a standard procedure for most high schools in the U.S.

I’m from an international school in Asia, I am in fact the school’s assistant guidance counselor. Very few of our students apply to America. I’ll also be applying online. I’m wondering how this information should now be related.

I’m sorry Drelnis, I assumed that you are an U.S. student :o. Do you have to mail in the student’s transcript to the college or can you do that online as well? For us, the transcript at least (and in some cases the teacher recs as well for teachers who prefer to fill them out on paper) needs to be physically mailed to the admissions office, and so the school profile is generally sent in along with the transcript.

I have arranged for all my school and personal documents to be submitted online with my teachers and GC. I have no opportunity to submit anything through the mail :(
