What is it like to live in New England?

I know similar threads have been made on HSL, but this one is specifically dedicated to the New England area (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island). I've always wondered if the cold climate which this region is notorious for actually lasts throughout the whole year, and if Ben and Jerry's is as ubiquitous in Vermont as McDonald's is in the rest of the country (please don't laugh; I've never been to Vermont before!) Also, feel free to ask more questions or discuss opinions!

what is it like to live in Ann Arbor, Michigan?

I’ve only just moved here, so I can’t really say much about it yet. But I would like to know what New England is like…

Based on my recent trips there (NY and MA), the summers are pretty much the same as NJ’s (80 - 90F, when I went). I’m guessing they get more snow during the winter.

Lots of snow. Don’t ever come here in the winter, it sucks lol. Winter does not last the whole year haha, it snows starting like late Novemberish? to like Marchish. I’ve never been to Vermont so I can’t say. I live in MA, and I love going out for ice cream but I can’t say I go to a Ben and Jerry’s often. I usually go to the local ice cream places.
Our summers can be nice! 80’s. Early this summer kinda sucked cuz it rained everyday, but we’ve been getting sunshine lately! (:

Don’t complain about the winter if you live in Massachusetts. Come to the Upper Midwest for the real stuff. I knew a two people from my HS last year that went to MIT and Harvard, and they both said the winters were way better there then they are in Minnesota.
