what is TAG?

I have 3.0 GPA , and I want to go to UCSD .
Does that mean if I sign the TAG , I can be admitted by UCSD 100% ?
Because the minimum GPA of UCSD is 3.0......

If your TAG is approved by UCSD, then yes, you’re guaranteed admission to the campus.

If you have a 3.0+ your TAG should be approved.

Here’s the specifics for UCSD

http://admissions.ucsd.edu/TagBrochure.pdf</a></p>

oh, really??? its so cool!!!
I never thought I could go into UCSD with this GPA…actually, I have prepared to apply for the cal state…
But Im still confused…
Since I can be admitted by UCSD ,why some guys with 3…6 + GPA were denied by UCSD?? Just beacuse they didnt sign the TAG??

and also if 3.0 GPA can let one person go into the UCSD ,why someone else still choose the calstate or UC irvine or something like that…i mean UCSD is the best univ. in the tag

Yeah TAG is pretty awesome. The reason not everyone does TAG is because not everyone meets the 30 semester or 45 quarter unit requirement. Also a lot of people don’t know about it, which is unfortunate.

As for why not everyone chooses UCSD, there’s a lot more to choosing colleges than US News rankings. I originally planned on TAGing UCSD because its psychology department is probably the strongest of those with TAG, but I ended up deciding on Davis because I have a few friends who will be attending Davis for graduate school, though I’ll still be TAGing to UCSD just incase. I would probably even choose Davis over LA.
