What is the atmosphere in the Cassel Hall dorms like?

I have heard about the whole Southside partier and Northside reserved cultures in American, but I’m curious as to which boat Cassel Hall fits in.

Based on your previous posts, I am going to assume that you are a freshman. If you are then the answer may not be as clear as previous years. In previous years, Cassell Hall was upperclassmen only which definitely affected the atmosphere.

I was not aware that Cassell was opening up for freshman but it would not surprise me as things change on this campus fast. Cassell is suite style meaning four or six people (there are both two bedroom and three bedroom versions) share a suite where two people live per room but they share a bathroom and living room. I would imagine for freshman this would allow for you to become closer with more people because you’d have more people living in close proximity along with fitting more people on a floor.

However, this could change if the floors are mixed grades (i.e freshman and sophomores living on the same floor) as you are less likely to make friends with sophomores. That would leave only your suite to make friends with and if you are not close to any of your suitemates, you may be in a friendless suite. Cassell is a very nice dorm, though, and if freshman take up the entire dorm, I am sure it will become a party dorm fast.
