I am getting almost perfect scores in reading and writing, but my math score on the PSAT was 650. What is the best prep book out there for someone who is looking to get an 800? (150 point improvement) I already plan on taking the practice tests made available by the College Board and am looking for a book that covers every math topic on the test but goes into detail on the especially tricky topics. I am planning self-prep myself so any tips will be appreciated! Realistic practice problems and tests are a plus!
If you’re referring to the actual SAT, use Khan Academy. If you mean the subject tests, then use the SAT Math II Review book. Both of these give detailed explanations and some of the trickiest problems.
Actual SAT math then " PWN the SAT" for someone like you who is already a 650 scorer.
Dr. Jaing’s. Barron’s Math SAT Workbook has been updated better than the regular Barrons and is excellent for the 650 level. If you are at 500 or 750, it is too easy or too hard.
PWN the SAT for sure. S19 started around a 720 on practice tests at the beginning of the summer. Reviewed with that book and got an 800 on the August test. He worked through every single chapter in that book, though, so it’s a lot of work.
Yeh, PWN is probably best. I don’t use it as a tutor because it doesn’t have a lot of problems to assign and go over.
