What is the best school to go to for pre-vet, or does it matter?

I am a Senior in high school and would like to work in the veterinary field one day. I really like Greenville College in Illinois, as well as Warner University in Florida and Westmont in California. Trouble is, Westmont is waaayyy to expensive for me. Greenville is so, so but it may be better for me to stay in state (Florida). I'm still trying to look into colleges. I am not sure what graduate school I would want to go to (whichever I can get in!) yet, except I think UC Davis sounds nice (since I was born in and want to move back to California.)

If you participated in a pre-vet program and/or in vet school student/grad can you give me some advice? I am looking for a college or university in Florida preferably. I tend to prefer private Christian schools to public, but those can get expensive. Greenville is $30,000 a year, so I DEFIANTLY don't want anything higher than that. Also, should I major in chemistry, biology, zoology, or something else as an undergrad?

heard purdue had a prevet? <a href=“Doctor of Veterinary Medicine - College of Veterinary Medicine - Purdue University”>Doctor of Veterinary Medicine - College of Veterinary Medicine - Purdue University; :)
