what is the best time to move in?

what is the best time to move in on Sunday?

AND

what is the best time to get your CAL 1 Card on sunday?

didn't they say not to come too early b/c traffic?

I was planning on getting there around 1... I feel like there are going to be way to many people at 10. shudder masses and masses of peeeoopllleee, blegh.

haha. i plan to get there before 10 even if they don't recommend it. i'll probably just loiter around the city and whatnot anyway.

is there a line that forms somewhere to pick up your keys, or what? where do you get the keys to your room? i wanna be the first one to my room b/c we are picking beds on a first-come-first-serve basis, so what do you think is a good time? thanks.

A lot of people might be thinking what you are, joie0867, and waiting until after 12 to show up (plus it's bloody early before!).

The earlier you go the more likely you will be the first in your room, ab_med.

i wouldn't worry too much about the time, since everyone is coming from different places. e.g., a lot of SoCal people will probably be showing up at 2pm-ish if they drive up that morning, while some might have come the night before and are going to move in at 10am. it'll be hectic all day, but nothing too horrible

in the central courtyard you 'check-in', and they give you a key to your room, with the room number and the telephone number to the room as well. you can also check out dollys to help move in your stuff, but you have to give them your cal1 ID I think

I think you will be fine at 6. At ckc, you go to the top of the horseshoe. There will be a line forming there. They have a table outside to check in, and you walk into bldg 1 to get your key(s).

i don't have my cal 1 card yet, should i get it before moving my stuff in?

you can move your stuff in first, but i wouldn't wait long to get your cal1card. definitely do it first thing monday morning if the office isn't open on sunday.

how far is the cal 1 card office from the unit1?

Its on campus by SLC.

what about getting ur classpass for the bus? when can i get that? that's the the cal-one card place right?

Yeah its the same place. If you have no registration blocks, then you can pick it up in the same place.

where do we get our meals on welcome week?

You can eat at the regular dining commons; they're all open. Or anywhere on campus as well. But you should take advantage of the tons of free food during welcome week; if you plan it right you wouldn't have to pay for a single meal at all! Look up the schedule of events to see where you can eat

yeah, just hit up like every frat

so our meal plan kicks in right away?

yes on the day you move in

Last year I could have pretty much lived off by all the free food available during welcome week.
