<p>I never drived in NYC. I feel scared to drive there. but I have to send my daughter to go to Dartmouth in Sep. </p>
<p>When I check it online they always say drive byI95 and pass NYC and then go to I91. Can I find a way to go to Dartmouth and I do not need go throught NYC. I even do not care drive little bit longer. </p>

<p>I would take the Tappan Zee Bridge (NJ Tpke to Exit 11 Garden State Pkwy then Exit14-1 I-87S/I-287E over the Tappan Zee then Exit 8(287E) to North Plains. From there you can either pick up 95North or use the Hutchinson/Merritt Pkwy to by pass more 95 traffic then pick up 91.</p>

go north on jersey side of hudson to newburgh ny (via palisades/ny thruway)
take 84 east to 91 north
all major highways</p>
<p>if your closer to philly fly southwest to manchester cheap!!
then take the bus or rent a car 1 and 1/4 hours by car or bus
rent a car in manchester reasonable
we are from florida so in winter would take bus and rent a car
in hanover/lebanon, very cheap.. enterprise would meet you at bus</p>

<li><p>Garden State to Tappan Zee Bridge to Cross-Westchester Expressway to I-95 to I-91 (along the coast and through New Haven)</p></li>
<li><p>Garden State to NY Thruway to I-84 to I-91 (through NY and northeastern Connecticut)</p></li>
</ol>
<p>The third is probably fastest and least stressful</p>
<p>we live in yorktown heights, new york. when we go to hanover the route we take depends on the time of day we are leaving and the traffic conditions we believe we will encounter. if we feel traffic will not be bad we take I84 east to I91 north (which we pick up in hartford). we take I91 north to exit 13 in vermont/new hampshire. the college is located within a mile of exit 13. if we feel the traffic on I84 will be heavy we take the taconic parkway north to I90 east. we take I90 to I91 north and exit I91 at exit 13 in vermont/new hampshire. the taconic parkway/I90 route is about 25 miles longer than the I84/ I91 route but when traffic is heavy on I84 it saves us time and aggravation. if you need more information send me an email at <a href="mailto:lyfa@aol.com">lyfa@aol.com</a>.</p>
