I am so clueless about which meal plan to choose from. I dont know which one to choose. I dont want to starve but i also dont want to have too many points which will be a waste of money.
What is the difference between the housing plans? What kind of students should get the premium plan? Which one is better?

My experiences are that people who only eat two meals a day in the DCs with the occasional snack from GBC or Bear Market will be okay, or possibly run out near the end and eat out instead. If you plan to get a lot of snacks, eat 3 meals a day consistently, etc. then the premium plan would likely be better. If you are truly on the edge, I suggest getting the standard and then buying extra points later if you need them. The university makes it easy for you to give them money.

If you are in Unit 3, beware the pull of Bear Market. Many of my friends (admittedly mostly those who smoke marijuana, though others are included) have quickly run out of meal points and needed to refill.

Any more opinions? I’m having trouble deciding too.

im getting the standard because i dont really eat breakfast lolllll…

^
That’s what you think! until you eat bear muffins. yum yum

Get the standard plan. Why? Because if you end up being extra hungry then you can just eat out, which is usually cheaper than eating in the DCs.

I will force you to eat a fair bit of *ty food. The other will force you to eat even more *ty food.

The DC’s suck IMO. The Golden Bear Cafe is awesome though.

If I want to eat breakfast everyday, should I get the premium plan?

Will the standard suffice if I just by my own cereal and keep it up in my minifridge?

I already accepted my housing offer and payed, and I went with the premium plan… but i changed my mind. Who do i call to change and can i change this?

^Just email housing.

For most, the standard plan is more than sufficient, and you can use the points at the GBC and other places around campus. Standard plan = about 2 DC meals/day – and remember, you can ADD points if you run out, but I don’t think you can SUBTRACT and get refund for extra points at the end of the year.
