An alum approached me for an interview and then later postpones the date we had agreed on. We rescheduled and he asked what dates I was available and I emailed back promptly. However, he has not yet responded and it has been about a week...How do I remind him? Or ask him?

If it has been at least five days, I would reply in the same email:

Hi Mr. ------

This is [name] from [high school] regarding my [college] alumni interview with you. I just wanted to check in with you quickly and see if you had a better idea on when we would be able to meet to talk. I am available on [date1], [date2], [date3], like I mentioned last week. If none of those times work for you, I am also available at [newdateortime]. I am very excited about [college] and look forward to meeting you soon! Thanks again for your time!

Sincerely,
[name]

Sometimes emails don’t go thru or get caught in spam filters. I suggest following post #2’s advice. If a few more days go by and you don’t hear anything, then you might want to try sending it from a different account.

Yes, I would agree with the others that you should certainly send a polite email at this point. There is no reason that he would feel like you are bugging him since you have waited quite awhile. He is probably just a busy person, and you’ve got to remind him that you are on his agenda. Follow up with a phone call if you don’t hear back from your next email. This will demonstrate initiative and eagerness. Be polite and professional and everything should work out great!
