I enjoy researching companies and their performances and keeping up with current events in general. I frequently read the WSJ, Businessweek, The Economist, and CNN ... its something I actually enjoy doing in my free time.

I'm taking AP Economics and I enjoy macro much more than micro, but I'm doing well in both. I'm just a high school senior looking into possible career choices

What job entails this kind of stuff?
Banking - Research?
Consulting?
__________?

Equity Research or Fixed Income Research sound like they would suit you well. Its all about doing due diligence and knowing the ins and outs of an industry/sector and company.

Speaking of this type of a career, I have a question of my own. I know that financial analysts working for investment banks work grueling hours, but are there less strenuous workplaces for those not wanting to work in IB? I mean, are the hours for analysts in other companies just as bad and are the salaries also fairly decent? Thanks.
