Um, guys, this wasn't supposed to be a snob fest.

VVTF are you guys doing? Why the hell would you list who lives in your neighborhood? And D-list celebrities at that? This was supposed to be an intelligent discussion on skewed perceptions. You guys are so desperate... seriously.. what are you doing?

If you have nothing to add about the psychology of skewed perceptions of wealth, then please do not post.. and definitely don't post the value of your home.. I'm not gonna even..

dude sorrry but that was my opinion.
i was just addressing a diff facet of wealth in the form of class. and i really dont see how that would be "desperate"

How the hell do you guys know all the D-List celebrities living in your town? I mean seriously, "noted psychologist?" "Handicapper, casino owner?" It's a little creepy actually. And not very impressive. You are so far missing the point of this thread it's not funny.

yeah...not that creepy, lol...you just got to wikipedia and type your town's name in. it lists them and what they do. and a couple are friends (Hayden used to go to dance with me; the Kays' daughter was on my softball team; Filipetti's daughter is a friend).

it's not a "snob fest." We were talking about wealthy neighborhoods and it's just an easy copy&paste way of illustrating the income level of certain areas.

"this one girl whose grandpa owns a jewelry business was on my recreational soccer team in 7th grade! man, am I happening or what? we used to play catch together -- we're practically kin!"

sad. and yes, really creepy. keep your curtains closed and unlist your name from your yellow pages! watch out!

There's a tendency by most people to include themselves in the middle class. Poor or wealthy are loosely defined terms, which each individual changes. Thus, someone who makes 60k will say that 100k is wealthy, while one who earns 100k might say 200k.
