What is your college GPA?

311griff: you hid it right on the nose. Having a 3.8 average doesn't mean your're smarter than someone who has a 2.8 average. A 3.8 average doesn't guarantee you a job; you still have to work as hard as someone who has a 2.8 average.

Thanks for everyone's replies.

"Average" GPA varies widely from college to college, and major to major. It's pretty unhelpful to compare on a forum like this.

311griff is totally right .

3.33 or 3.31 I'm not entirely sure.
I think I calculated out a 3.57 major GPA awhile ago.

I'm requesting an official transcript soon, so I should know in the next couple of weeks.

2.601, but a 3.50 in my major.

Awesome.

Looking like a 2.3...we also have a lot of proud member of the 'square root' club here :)

I had a 3.46 cummulative after the end of my freshman year (I'm currently 1st sem sophomore) but this semester is kicking my A S S so hard, and looking like this semester's GPA is gonna be about a 2.75. (Chemistry can bite me.) However, my cummulative will still be around a 3.1. which is good cause I have to keep a 3.0 for my scholarships. I've only taken 2 courses in my major and am taking the 3rd one now. I got B's in both the other two and I'm probably going to have a B in this one also, so that's a 3.0 major GPA.

If you're in a tough major, a 2.8 is OK. It's above national averages. I heard for jobs/grad school/etc they look for above a 3.0--but, if you have a job or participate in activities, then it will show on your resume where your time went. Employeers also may look at you school's average GPA--if it's below national average, a 2.8 may not be bad at all. And, you have time to get it up. There are some schools with a lot of grade inflation, and others that just don't.

I have a 3.4 and expect it to drop a bit after this horrid semester. (junior, aeropsace engineering) I need to keep a 2.75 for scholarships. I worry every semester about it, and so far I haven't gone below 3.0 at all. Thank goodness for curves.

I know it varies by position at a company, too.

For example, one of the big 4 accounting firms has a 3.0 gpa requirement for certain listing on their career sources site, and a 3.3 gpa for others.

I'm sending out my letter to receive a copy of my official transcript...If I remember off the top of my head, at the end of the semester I'll have 83 credit hours.

Does anyone know if the official transcript will show your cumulative, as well as your major GPA?

Or is that a calculation you have to come up with yourself? I calculated mine last semester, but was wondering if its typically on an official transcript?

3.8 pushing a 4.0 if it wasn't for that damn B in Math!! I hate that class!!

Citrus Community College GPA: 2.16 AA degree Mostly because of MATH iam not good at taking math exams.
Pasdena City College GPA:2.5 3 courses
Azusa Pacfic University GPA: 2.5 (Biology B, Bible Course B, Art History C (A Junior Level Course All taken during the summer).

Tufts: 3.76 GPA, after 6 semesters (currently in my 7th semester; ie, first-semester senior)

Average GPA of the Tufts graduating class of 2006: 3.2
