What is your current UW status?

Applied: December 26, 2009

Current Status (updated today): We have received all materials required to review your application. Your application will remain in this status until decisions are finalized. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made.

Changed from “…awaiting initial review.”

I think the final stage is “We have made a decision.”

I believe so too, Igi and HuynhJJK.

so the final stage is “we have made a decision” and then after that you will receive a letter with the final decision?

^ where does the unofficial transcript load??

I just got the letter to sign up, so I’m still in “awaiting an initial review.”

I hate that it lists the SAT essay scores…I feel dumb for my essays. I’m horrible at writing in 25 minutes. Maybe 45, but not 25.
Ah, well. I guess my status will be here for a while.

Hey man, no worries. I only got a 6 overall on my essays. Like you said, whenever I’m told to write with a time constraint I write garbage. Hopefully my multiple choice results will help offset that lovely 6.

One of mine is lower than a 6…but I’m in AP English, so I don’t know how that works out.
And my multiple choice is pretty good, so, yeah, I hope that counts for something.

I know there is a “We have reviewed your application. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made.” And there might be a follow up with “We have made a decision”

Got acceptance letter about a month ago but the status still says We have reviewed your application. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made.

did your unofficial transcript get loaded?

I had my SAT scores sent to UW, with the thing when collegeboard sends your score to 4 colleges for free after you take the test. that was way back in october. i turned my application on last friday and it says that they havn’t recieved my scores yet. is that a problem?

I’m still at:

Your application is awaiting review.

***?! I’ve been like this for a couple of weeks now. So frustrating!

sweetgirl: My S has been at this stage since Dec 3rd! It’s frustrating that UW-Seattle, supported by my taxes, is so inefficient. Why can’t they do an initial review of apps within a week of arrival to make sure they have everything on file? Without an initial review, your application may be incomplete and you may not find out until they do a review to determine that. This sucks. Totally.

^
Absolutely agree with you. Why couldn’t someone take ten seconds to look over my application and determine if anything was wrong with it the day they received it? Instead it waited in queue, was glanced at, then pushed to the back of the line for being incomplete.

Just such a frustrating process. Good luck to you all!

rational2: since Dec 3rd? I would recommend emailing. I sumbitted Dec1st and after waiting through the whole dec and half of jan, I decided to email just to make sure they have everything on file. They did claim that “most apps receive an initial review within 6-8weeks”, so I don’t see anything wrong with checking. although they didn’t reply to me directly, my status changed to “have received” 3days later (with a weekend inbetween). So definitely try that, this is a little unusual.

Thanks Mimi. Sent an email today.

From what I know, initial review is just the beginning process for them to check if all the technical things are right or not. Then after that, the review part is when they actually start the process, I think. Can anyone confirm this?

Can someone tell me the policies of UW concerning mid-yearly reports? Like our transcripts with the grades from the first semester of senior year?

Plus if it makes anyone feel better, various students from my school, who don’t have the strongest GPA or SAT scores have already gotten in. But then there are those who got like SAT scores above 2200 and have a 4.0 GPA who still haven’t gotten in. Puzzling really.

That made me feel worse.
