What is your major?

I’m an Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning major.

<--- is econ

Animal Science =)

Environmental Biology and Management. I think I'm going to switch though.

I just took an environmental biology class at my local JC - very fun

Computer Science. :)

doubling in English/Linguistics. It's good times. Love the English department here--there are some really fantastic and hilarious professors :)

computer science!

woohoo im not alone! :D

Computer Science here as well. :) (Though planning to change major to Internatl. Relations... cough)

mechanical/materials engineering
i really wanted to do computer science since i am already a programmer
i might change my major to computer science

Biological Sciences!

Where is the rest of the bio people?? Haha

dmission: excellent, another computer scientist...
caitlinsoup: ...and another...
totakeke: ...and another...sorta...
deepster: ...and one more...potentially...

welcome to ucd! my advice to all cs majors-- find a group of friends you can work with, and stick with them through your lower div courses, especially ecs 40, where you're allowed to have a programming partner. it helps a lot to have someone to help you when you get stuck!

fooshy

fooshy do you have any advice for computer engineering students?

hmm Mad Scientist = tries to create humans
So Computer scientists, logically, must try to create computers. Hey it works.

Computer Science and Engineering =) CSE!!

yes, advice! aside from the advice i gave in the post above, pay attention to prerequisites (especially for CS 30), because unlike some other majors, prereqs really matter for CS. also, don't take more than 2 cs classes per quarter, usually 1 is enough, 2 is pushing it. there are some exceptions, but that's a good rule of thumb.

fooshy

fooshy is definitely right about the CS classes especially ECS 40 with Sean Davis, right now the grade breakdown i think is 24 A's, 9 B's, 7C's, a few D's and 25 F's. He is into extremely concise code.

I however am a Political Science - Public Policy/Classics major

boo no econ majors here? =[

i was an econ major until i took econ, that was fun...
